When Simon, a Pharisee, invited Jesus to dinner, a woman known to be a sinner attended. She washed Jesus feet with her tears, wiped them dry with her hair, perfumed them, and kissed them. Jesus told Simon that the woman had given him a loving welcome where Simon had not. He told the woman that her faith had saved her. Luke 7

In what has come to be called the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus preached about the beatitudes, the qualities of self-acceptance, empathy, gentleness, spirituality, sensitivity, transparency, peacemaking, and endurance.
